The Main Interface
The main interface is designed to give you quick access to the features of Modellers Assistant. Below the title bar is the toolbar. This has three options for - settings, about and general help. The Below the toolbar is a tab that contain the features of Modellers Assistant, by arranging in tabs you are able to flick between features. Each tab has a help button located in the top right of the tab. When pressed, this opens the help system to the relevant section for the tab you are viewing.
Colour Libraries
These are the range of paint colours and types available from different manufacturers. You can view the details of a particular paint and the cross reference of the colour with real world colour standards and possible alternatives from other manufacturers where applicable.
Kits and Bits
There are several categories available to you - After Sales, Decals, Glues, Kits, Masks, Materials, and Tools. For each category there is a manufacturers library of there offerings for that category. For example, the category for Kits may list offerings of model kits from Airfix, Tamiya, Revell, etc. Once a category and manufacturer combination has been selected you are presented with a list of the offerings. When an item is selected the details for that item is displayed and any cross referenced after sales parts (such as etched kits, resin parts, decals, masks, etc.).
Projects Tab
This tab allows you to create and manage your projects. Once a project is created you can add items to the project from either a colour library or a Kits and Bits library. The project list then builds up to contain the items required to complete that project. Also available on a project by project basis is additional information for the project such as links to reference web sites or PDF documents and whether this project has a relationship with other projects (that is this project is part of a bigger project).
Stock List Tab
The Stock List tab contains a list of the items that you have in stock. These can be paint items as well as any items in the Kits and Bits categories (after sales, glues, kits, etc.).

Shopping List Tab
The shopping List is a list of items that you want to purchase either for a project, to replenish your stock, or just to add to your stock.
Stock Management System
The Stock Management System is designed to make your life easier in managing the Stock List. If you add items to a project that are not in your stock list then Modellers Assistant can automatically add the item to the shopping list. If you use an item for a project then the amount used can be taken away from the stock list quantity. If the stock list quantity falls below a threshold limit then it can automatically be added to the shopping list to be purchased.
PoP Tab
This tab allows you to create Projects of Projects (PoP). A PoP is designed to break large projects down into several smaller ones making the job easier. The essence of a PoP is creating a relationship between the different projects. One project is defined as a parent and other projects under it are defined as a child to the parent. A project can only be defined as a parent or child and can only be associated to one PoP, but a PoP can be added to another PoP thereby allowing you to create sections of work within a larger section that is a part of the bigger project.
PDF Catalogues Tab
PDF files are used as a cross platform means of sharing information and documents. They may contain one page of tips or be a whole book. You may have collected PDF files on your travels through the internet. The PDF Catalogues tab helps you to organise your PDF files into categories that are relevant to you. Once a category has been created then it can be associated with one or more projects. This allows you to have relevant documents associated to a project.
Colour Standards Reference Tab
This tab provides you with several libraries of the real world colour standards used by the military from different nations. The information is cross referenced, where applicable, to other standards and model paint manufacturers offerings.

Internet Links Tab
Internet Links are similar to bookmarks used in internet browsers. However, the Internet Links can be grouped into collections that are relevant to you. Each collection can also be associated with one or more projects so you have the relevant reference information available with the applicable project.

Reports Tab
This is an inbuilt report viewer for your Project, Stock, and Shopping list reports. The viewer will not only preview the report prior to printing, but will also allow you to export the report to a file for use within other applications. If a report has a group defined then you can select the required group and print just the group you are interested in.
Block Add
Adding a couple of items to a list is easily done in the relevant tab but when you want to enter lots of different items to different lists then it’s a different matter. That’s where the Block Add feature comes in. It allows you to add one or more items, from one or manufacturers, to different lists. In essence you create a preview of the selected items. This preview can then be adjusted to either change the list the item is going to or the quantity to use. Once you are happy with the changes then all the items in the preview are added to the specified lists with the desired quantity. Easy to use, quickly done.
